Privacy Policy
Helping Robots Inc. (“we”, “us”, “our”) built MomRadar to give caregivers an extra set of eyes — not to watch, collect, or profit from you or your family. This policy explains, in plain language, what information MomRadar gathers, why, and how you can control it. If anything here isn't clear, contact us and we'll explain it in plain English too.
The short version
- MomRadar's camera feature looks for situations that may need your attention — like a child near a hazard — not for who is in the picture. No facial recognition, no profile of your child.
- Camera images are analyzed in real time to generate an alert, and are not stored afterward or used to train our AI models.
- We only collect the contact information you choose to give us.
- We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone else's marketing lists — ever.
- If you opt in to text alerts, you're in control: reply STOP any time to stop them.
- MomRadar is a tool for parents and caregivers — it isn't directed at children, and children don't interact with it directly.
1) Information we collect
- Information you give us directly — for example, your name, email, and phone number (optional), if you sign up for the beta or send us a message through our contact form. Contact form messages are delivered to our support mailbox and are not stored on the website itself.
- Camera images, analyzed in real time — MomRadar analyzes your camera feed to detect situations that may need your attention. This analysis happens in real time to generate an alert; see Section 3 for details on what happens to that imagery.
- Device and app data (e.g., app version, device type, timestamps) for reliability and debugging.
- Notifications data (e.g., delivery status) to make sure alerts work.
2) How we use information
- To provide hazard detection and alert notifications.
- To maintain, troubleshoot, and improve app performance.
- To communicate with you about the beta program, product updates, or your account.
- To send text message alerts, if you've separately opted in (see Section 4).
We do not use camera images to train or improve our AI models, build advertising profiles, or identify specific individuals.
3) AI processing and third parties
MomRadar uses third-party AI/vision providers to analyze your camera feed and detect hazard situations. This analysis happens in real time to generate an alert. Images and metadata are not stored at the provider's side, and are not used to train AI models. The system is designed to recognize situations (like a child climbing on furniture) — not to recognize or track who a specific child or adult is. MomRadar does not perform facial recognition, does not create a biometric profile, and does not link camera images to your name or identity.
4) Text messages (SMS)
If you choose to give us your phone number and separately opt in to text alerts, you may receive text messages from MomRadar related to your beta signup, safety alerts, and product updates.
- Consent: By opting in and providing your phone number, you agree to receive text messages from MomRadar for the purposes described above. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive texts is never a condition of using MomRadar.
- Opting out: Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe at any time, or HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- We do not share your mobile number with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. We use Twilio as our text-messaging service provider solely to deliver these messages on our behalf. See our SMS Terms for the full program details.
5) Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers who help us run MomRadar:
- Twilio — to deliver text message alerts, if you've opted in, and to deliver email, including messages you send through our contact form.
- Our AI vision provider(s) — to analyze camera footage in real time and generate alerts (not retained, not used for training).
- Cloudflare — for website hosting, security (including the automated spam check on our contact form), and domain infrastructure.
- Google Workspace — for the mailbox where we receive and answer your messages.
We may also share information if required by law, or to protect the safety of you, your family, or others.
6) Data retention
Camera images and the data generated from analyzing them are used only in real time to produce an alert and are not stored afterward. We keep other information (like beta signup details) only as long as needed for the purposes described above, unless a longer period is required by law.
7) Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to keep your data safe and will let you know if something happens that affects you.
8) Children's privacy
MomRadar is a tool for parents and caregivers to use in their own home. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children — the account holder is the caregiver; a child never creates an account or provides information to us directly. MomRadar's camera feature may incidentally observe a child as part of its safety-monitoring purpose, but as explained in Section 3, that analysis happens in real time, isn't stored, and isn't used to identify who the child is. If we ever start using footage to improve MomRadar's detection accuracy, we'll update this policy first and seek appropriate consent for that specific new use. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information directly, contact us and we'll delete it.
9) Your choices and rights
- You can disable camera access in device settings (which may limit core functionality).
- You can ask us what information we have about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, any time — use our contact form and choose "Privacy or data request".
- You can opt out of text messages any time by replying STOP.
Depending on where you live, state privacy laws (for example, in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, or Texas) may give you additional rights to access, correct, delete, or limit the use of your personal information. We'll honor requests consistent with the laws that apply to you.
10) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll revise the "Effective date" above when changes are posted, and for significant changes — especially any change to how we use camera images — we'll let you know directly first.
